Bio
Brian Higgins Classical Guitar
Brian Higgins is a classical guitarist living in Mount Rainier, MD with his partner Juliana Barnet; and daughter, Ms. Sophia.
Mr. Higgins first picked up the guitar at age 23, the harmonica at 57, and wrote his first book at age 5, or 6. It shall remain forever unpublished, as the only handwritten master of it is lost to the dustbin of history.
He first began to play a discarded guitar on Mr. Tabor's Pennsylvania farm in 1988, but he fell inexplicably in love with the sound and music unique to solo classical guitar when his father gave him a basic beginners book on the subject, as well as CD's of Julian Bream, Christopher Parkening, and Andres Segovia. One might say " The moonlight struck the chord", and the rest has been a very slow growing snowball of effort and modest achievement towards replicating these Maestro's exquisite tones. He has been active with the Baltimore Classical Guitar Society, most recently earning his Level 11 Performance Certificate. Mr. Higgins is currently studying guitar with Justin Heath of the School of Musical Traditions. He is working towards launching an album of his selected recordings. Twenty four tracks are available for purchase at Bandcamp for your listening pleasure.
'Instruments of Choice' include the Takamine CP-132SC guitar, and Suzuki SCX 48C chromatic harmonica. The Hohner Chromonica has been in the repair shop for most the last year. Steer clear.
How It Works
Brian Higgins knows that you want to be relieved from the stress of daily life.
In order to do that, you need quality music for relaxation and empowerment.
The problem is the world may be closing in, which makes you feel society is collapsing around you.
Know that music is a an integral part of a quality life.
Look, I understand how hard it is just to get by, or even overthrow the elites who are Genociding in Gaza, bombing Iran and Lebanon back to the Stone Age, to say nothing of destroying what we thought was our democracy, and, oh by the way, threatening to make Earth uninhabitable. Which is one reason why I have studied and continue to make this great music for your listening pleasure..
Here’s how we do it:
1. Overthrow the dominant power structure, while also keeping a roof over your head and bread on the table;
2. take stock of all who remain, of what buildings are left standing , what you can still make use of, etc;
3. build the new egalitarian society. This won't happen in a day, and you will not be alone in the struggle.
So, with Brian's music in your library, either as a CD or digitally in your phone, take whatever time you need to recharge.
And in the meantime, enjoy the free download track as my thank you for your email sign up!
So you can stop stressing and instead reclaim enjoying life and routing the capitalist exploiters!
I make music because
I want to live in a world where everybody has enough; that no one should go without, that people have what they need, and music is something people need. I thank you for visiting, and I hope you find something worthwhile in my classical music.
